Requirements:
TEFL qualification
Previous experience in Business and/or Conversational English is a plus.
A limited number of positions are available for newly-qualified teachers.
LINGUA.RU CONTRACTS
Main terms and conditions of Lingua.Ru FULL-TIME CONTRACT (6-month/9-month long):
A full-time teacher's contract is for 180 working days (36 teaching weeks) plus 15 days holidays and public holidays.
Teachers will work 98 clock hours in any four weeks period consisting of 92 clock hours teaching plus 6 hours set aside for standby, placement testing, seminars, presentations. Classes are held at school premises or corporate clients.
Teachers are guaranteed to have 2 days off a week (not necessarily at the weekend).
Travelling time between classes is not counted as teaching hours.
Salaries (US $635 - $885 per month, depending on qualifications and experience) paid twice monthly in cash, peg to US dollar set by Central Bank, Russia.
Bonus in the amount of 50 US$ monthly is paid on completion of the contract.
The school provides airfare reimbursement of US$ 350 per employment contract.
Russian National Insurance contributions and Tax will be paid by the school.
A teacher is entitled to 15 working days paid leave. A teacher should request for his/her holiday one month in advance.
Accommodation will be paid for by the school. Each teacher will have his/her own bedroom and the use of a kitchen and bathroom, which may be shared with another teacher. (In other cities i.e. outside of Moscow teachers usually have single accommodation.) Flats are usually located close to our school. In Moscow flats are situated close to the metropolitan area.
Teachers who need to use the local transport to get to work have these transport costs paid by the company (this is usually in the form of a travel card).
The school provides visa support. We offer multiple-entry working visa for the time of the contract. Any consulate fee and AIDS test cost are reimbursed on successful completion of the contract.
If a teacher is ill he/she can use the school doctor or visit a clinic recommended by the school. Consultations with the school doctor and Russian State healthcare, including prescribed medical treatment and hospitalization, are provided free of charge (NB: dentist service is not provided).
Teachers are not paid for the first 3 days of absence from work through illness. For any further days of illness teachers are paid 50% of their gross salary.
Teachers are supplied with teaching materials by the school. We have a lot of extra resources including videos for teachers and students. Teachers can also use extra facilities, such as photocopy machine, computers and Internet. Our school offers an extensive selection of reference books, video and audio cassettes for our teachers to use. We have approachable and experienced DOSes and ADOSes who give excellent professional support to our teachers. Teaching seminars and EMT meetings are held monthly.
The first 2 days at school are considered as orientation period during which time they will be introduced the school, observe lessons. They are not asked to teach, but are paid for during this period of time. The initial six weeks of a teacher's employment is the trial period (the teacher will be observed by a DOS/ADOS and given feedback and opportunity to discuss any problems).
Teachers are met at the Airport upon arrival and are given an advance $50 in rubles, a small food package, bedding and all the necessary information for the next day. Teachers are shown their immediate surrounding and the nearest metro station. The next day a school representative will meet the teacher and take him/her to the Central Office.
For the full - time contract teachers lunch is available at school.
One telephone card for mobile phone per month is provided.
Russian lessons are offered to contract teachers at special discount rates, at our School of Modern Languages.
A large variety of events are organized by the school to enrich the teachers' cultural awareness.
